Overview
Specialty Medical Systems services all types of power equipment, including electrical, battery and pneumatic pieces. SMS strives to provide the highest quality repair in a cost and time effective manner, with most repairs completed in 4 to 6 days. Loaner equipment is available on most pieces with no charge to the customer.

Repair Process
SMS receives a power piece for repair and logs it into its database. SMS is able to see any repair history on the specific piece. If a piece has been repaired in the past, it is checked to see if any warranties apply. The database creates a repair work order which accompanies the piece throughout the repair process. The repair is then assigned to one of SMS highly trained repair technicians. The repair technician starts by trying to recreate the problem described by the customer. Once the problem has been diagnosed, the customer is notified. The customer is given an estimate of the repair cost. Once approval has been given by the customer, the repair is completed. Every piece is given a final inspection for function and safety.
Repair Capability
SMS repair technicians have extensive training for repair of power pieces for all specialties, including but not limited to orthopedic, oral/maxillofacial/ENT, plastic, small and large bone, neurological, cardiovascular and general surgery. From simple replacement of o-rings, retaining rings and fasteners to a complete overhaul of motors and circuit boards, SMS technicians have experience in all types of repairs. Most repairs are finished in 3-5 days, with major repairs requiring additional time. If SMS is unable to complete the repair, the piece will be returned to the customer or sent to the manufacturer at no charge to the customer.
