Purpose: To highlight healthcare breaches in Infection Prevention, focus on root causes, and leave with recommendations to prevent future infections by following guidelines set by multi societies.
Objectives:
| Upon successful completion of this course, the participants will be able to: | |
| 1. | Explain detail of several well publicized infection control and instrument reprocessing breaches. |
| 2. | Discuss risk of infection associated with these breaches and miscellaneous reprocessing topics. |
| 3. | Identify recommendations to prevent infection that could result from these breaches. |
| 4. | Discuss different risk assessments and the thresholds for patient notification. |
| 5. | Explain difference between each type of Hepatitis and how they are transmitted. |
| 6. | Define two complications of Hepatitis B & C. |
| 7. | Identify regulatory agencies that monitor infection prevention practices and breaches. |
| 8. | Discuss CMS Pay for Performance |
